LEADING EDGE FLIGHT TRAINING UPDATE
We are ready to reopen initially for solo hire. However, as of 31/05/2020 this has not yet been approved by the relevant authorities:-
CAA – No restriction imposed but they have confirmed Department of Transport have not relaxed the restriction for Scotland.
Scottish Government – We are awaiting confirmation if recreational flying is included in ‘non-contact sports’
Transport Scotland – They have confirmed it is under review and they will update us asap.
Our Insurance Company – They have seen no clarification the restrictions have been lifted yet.
Both of our bases (Glasgow Airport & Prestwick Airport) are not authorising flights in line with current restrictions.
We are extremely keen to get back to flying ASAP. However, with the information above we understand it may be a few days until this is possible.
